Get ready to run, pass, and play! Our Summer Flag Football Class is a fun, high-energy, non-contact program designed for kids ages 7–11. Participants will learn the fundamentals of football—including passing, catching, route running, defensive positioning, and teamwork—in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Each session is structured with a mix of skill-building drills, interactive games, and friendly scrimmages to help players develop confidence, improve coordination, and understand the flow of the game. Whether your child is brand new to football or already has some experience, our program is designed to meet them at their level and help them grow.
Our focus is on sportsmanship, teamwork, and having fun while staying active. By the end of the session, players will not only have improved their football skills but also built friendships and gained confidence both on and off the field.

The Fall Flag Football League is back with practices starting August 17th. The RHS Hodag Football team will be helping to coach on Saturday mornings. In collaboration with the school district, we will have one paid coach for each grade level who will lead the skills drills at practices and help organize all the games. We will still need volunteer coaches for each team. If you are interested in coaching, please contact Matt Steingraber at [email protected] or call 715-362-9622 ext 120.
Practices will begin on August 17th. We understand that you may still be taking your summer vacations this week, but we want to meet with as many kids as possible to start teaching the skills and plays needed to run effective games. All practices will start at 5 PM. All practices will run on the James Williams Recess Field, located right next to Mike Webster Field.
- Grades 5-6 practice Mondays
- Grades 3-4 practice Tuesdays
- Grades 1-2 practice Thursdays
Games will begin on August 29th. All games will start at 9:30 AM. Games will be played at Mike Webster Field, RHS Practice Fields, or James Williams Recess Field. Locations will rotate so each Grade Level will get an opportunity to play on Mike Webster. Game locations will be posted once we know the number of teams.
The game and practice schedule is subject to change based on high school sporting events. Please contact your coaches on SportsYou with any concerns.
In the event of inclement weather, we may utilize the Hodag Dome if it is available, but this will alter the schedule. Please watch the YMCA Facebook Page for updates in the event of weather.
